Many people have asked how my sister, Lisa, and I (John) fared after Hurricane Ike and what happened to O'Cajcen in Pearland.
Fortunately, we were one of the lucky ones. We live in Sugar Land and only had minor damage. Our backyard fence was destroyed as well as our backyard shed. There's a picture below. Amazingly, all the stuff from the shed was still there, in a pile.
As for the restaurant, we made out ok. There was something that cut part of the roof causing a leak and causing some ceiling tiles to come down. But the worst part is having the power out still. Luckily we were able to save some of the food at our freezers at home, unfortunately we did lose a lot of the food.
All in all we are all happy that we are all safe. Our prayers go out to all those who weren't as fortunate during the storm.
O'Cajcen Seafood will open as soon as power is restore and are able to provide safe, good fresh food. If you have any questions or need anything, please don't hesitate to email Lisa or I at john@cajcen-kitchen.com.
